The 6th Creek Catchment Group

The 6th Creek Catchment Group consists of local Landcare Groups, landholders, community organisations and representatives from Government agencies with an interest in land management and protection of our local environment. We gratefully acknowledge the support from the Adelaide & Mt Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board, Forestry SA, National Parks and Wildlife SA and Adelaide Hills Council.

Since 1998 we have been fortunate to receive Natural Heritage Trust & National Action Plan (2002) funds to ensure strategic and coordinated action could be initiated to manage the catchment's valuable natural resources.

These funds (along with other contributions), have been used for extensive weed control, fencing & revegetation to conserve the remaining biodiversity and the running of workshops/courses to educate local landholders on sustainable land management practices. Working with more than 70 landholders, we have shown that the challenges, great though they are, can be met.

How we can help

  • Provide you with an Information Kit

  • Possibly assist financially with on ground works on your property (mainly weed control, revegetation & fencing)

  • Supply information on good property management

  • Provide access to training in Landcare and property maintenance

  • Put you in contact with people with similar issues and interests

  • Send you information about training courses and workshops
